The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Clay county which includes the city of Moorhead, MN. The storm was last located 25 miles west of Fargo, ND, moving east at 30 mph. 60mph winds and quarter size hail are possible. Warning in effect until 7 pm. More Information

    All of the Honors Program requirements provide high-achieving students with a challenging curriculum suited to their needs, interests and abilities.

    • 3 credits Honors Colloquium (A topical, writing-intensive course that fulfills some Liberal Arts and Sciences Curriculum requirements.)
    • 9 credit Honors courses may be fulfilled by a combination of the following:
      • A course approved for the Honors Program; OR
      • A section of a regular course designated for Honors students, which may fulfill a LASC requirement; OR
      • An Honors course contract: With the approval of the honors advisor and agreement of the student and professor, a regular course could be designated an Honors course if additional work is outlined for the student to complete the course.
       
    • 8 credits Honors encounters - Students are expected to register for a one-credit Honors encounters course 8 times during their college career.
      • Normally, the Honors encounters course will include attendance and reflection on any combination of:
        • Honors lectures; OR
        • Other lectures approved by the program; OR
        • Performances or exhibitions beyond classroom requirements approved by the program; OR
         
       
    • Alternatively, Honors encounters can be earned by:
      • Learning Abroad; OR
      • Foreign language beyond major requirements; OR
      • Independent research or creative work beyond required for course work.
       
    • 3 credits Honors capstone (Development of an intellectual and/or professional written project that demonstrates student accomplishments in the program.)
