    Re-admission Requirements

If you have applied to MSUM graduate school for the SLHS department before, please be advised that you need to re-submit ALL documents.  The only items that will not be required again are transcripts and GRE scores, unless you have continued your education and/or have retaken the GRE test since you last submitted the materials to MSUM.

The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) graduate program at MSUM admission procedures align with the university mission of preparation of graduates to meet state and regional needs. The SLP graduate program admission process places particular emphasis on:

    • Retaining the strongest students at MSUM.
    • Addressing the shortage of SLP’s in the region by giving preference to highly qualified applicants who reside in the region and/or are likely to seek future employment in the region.
    • Seeking to add diversity to the SLP profession by encouraging applications from under-represented populations which include males and other culturally and linguistically diverse applicants.

Students should be aware that acceptance into a graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology(SLP) is a competitive admission process. The number of qualified students applying for admission is often much higher than the program capacity. Similar to most other SLP programs in the country, while the minimum GPA to apply is 3.0, the mean GPA for students gaining admission to the MSUM program is significantly higher. You may review the program statistics from the Student Outcomes link for the mean and range of GPA and GRE scores from the last three years. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association provides useful information for students seeking admission to SLP graduate programs at the following link under the Admission to Graduate School section http://www.asha.org/Students/Planning-Your-Education-in-CSD/
