Computer Science & Information Systems Scholarships

  • MSUM offers a variety of Computer Science and Information Systems scholarships for current and incoming students. Scholarships are listed below. Students can also apply for general university scholarships through the Office of Scholarship & Financial Aid.

  • The scholarship application process opens in March and Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) majors are emailed the scholarship application and procedure for applying.

    Eligibility

    1. Applicants must have declared a CSIS major and be a full-time student in the academic year of award.
    2. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in a CSIS major.
    3. Applicants must have a 3.0 overall GPA.
        
  • Scholarships Offered

    • CSIS Endowed Scholarships
      Generous donations from CSIS alumni and former and current faculty and staff have funded a Computer Science and Information Systems endowment that awards one $500 scholarship annually to a CSIS major.
    • Microsoft CSIS Student Scholarship
      Microsoft Corporation, Fargo, N.D. campus annually donates up to five $1,000 scholarships to be awarded up to five Computer Science or Computer Information Technology CSIS Department majors.
    • Dian Lopez Computer Science Scholarship

      One $1,000 Dian Lopez Computer Science Scholarship is awarded annually. This scholarship must go to a female student majoring in Computer Science who has completed CSIS 252.
    • CSIS Student Scholarship
      Generous donations from CSIS Alumni and former and current faculty and staff fund CSIS student scholarships annually based on available funds and quality of applications.
    • Otter Tail Power Company Scholarship
      In recent years the Otter Tail Power Company has been most generous to provide a $1,500 scholarship to a junior or senior in the computer science field with preference given to customers served by Otter Tail Power. A list of areas served can be found on the Otter Tail Power Company website.
