    Benefits of MSUM's CNSA Program

    • Prestigious Accreditation: The Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) ensures our program meets professionally approved standards.
    • Excellent Preparation: Our CNSA graduates have 100 percent passing rate on the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) and the National Counselor Examination (NCE).
    • Real-world Experience: Fine-tune your counseling skills at MSUM’s Community Outreach Center.
    • Job Placement: Employment of student affairs and counseling (varies by specialty) professionals is expanding by 12-29 percent, which is as fast as average and much faster than average for all occupations through 2022 (Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2014-15). Our CNSA students have 100 percent placement in related employment to student affairs and counseling.
    • Evening Classes: All courses are delivered from either 4:30-7:00pm or 7:15-9:45pm to accommodate working students; many are hybrid delivery (combination of online and face-to-face classroom learning). The program can be completed in two (full-time) to five years.
    • Advisement: New students receive one-on-one help in class preparation and course planning from a Graduate Peer Advisor.
