MSUM Nursing faculty are doctorally prepared, specialty credentialed, and experienced nurse educators. They are accessible and accommodating and will work with you to ensure you receive the best education possible to advance your nursing practice.
MSUM’s BS in Nursing is designed as an 8-semester program. After completing Semester 1 and 2 prerequisite courses and upon acceptance into the nursing program, Semester 3 nursing courses start and you’ll continue with nursing courses in the subsequent Fall, Spring and Summer semesters through Semester 8.

MSUM is a proud member of the Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE), which promotes concept-based experience to support student learning. As you progress through the holistic nursing curriculum, you will draw from a base of knowledge and apply your practice to specific patient, family, community or population needs.
MSUM’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program integrates holistic nursing principles throughout the entire nursing curriculum. Holistic nurses nurture wholeness, peace and healing by valuing each person’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental strengths and challenges, and honoring each person’s values, health beliefs and health experience (American Holistic Nurses Association [AHNA], 2019). MSUM will seek endorsement from the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC).
