Paralegal Transfer Agreements

Begin taking classes at your Community or Technical College and complete a BS degree in Paralegal at MSUM. The courses listed in the table below are requirements and need to be completed. Work with an advisor to complete these courses as part of your technical program's general education or electives. MSUM courses are in parenthesis. For course equivalents visit with your transfer specialist or go to transferology.com and search for equivalencies.

Transfer of credits for paralegal major courses from other academic institutions is generally not accepted. The exceptions to this policy include courses identified in an existing articulation agreement between MSUM and another institution or in exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Transfer of courses other than through an existing articulation agreement must meet the following criteria:

  1. The course was taken at an ABA approved institution;
  2. The course is of the same number level as the relevant MSUM paralegal course (i.e.300 level);
  3. The paralegal faculty have evaluated the competencies and learning outcomes of the courses to determine that the course is equivalent to an existing MSUM paralegal major course; and
  4. The credit transfer complies with all other MSUM, Department, Program and American Bar Association (ABA) Policies.
