Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is open to all university students. Auditions are held during the first week of the fall semester. The instrumentation includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums. The group has performed in concerts and master classes with a number of internationally acclaimed jazz artists, including drummers Peter Erskine and Steve Smith, saxophonists Bob Mintzer and Denis DiBlasio, and trumpeters Marvin Stamm and Chuck Findley. The Jazz Ensemble has experienced a considerable amount of success, including being named "Best College Big Band" at the Eau Claire Jazz Festival in 1993 and 2011.
