Graphic Design is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. It’s what drives advertising and attracts us to brands. From billboards to newspapers, magazines, websites, posters and more, it’s everywhere. If you wish to combine art and technology with strategy, MSUM’s Graphic Design major is the place for you.
MSUM’s Graphic Design program has state-of-the-art technology. To create the best work, our students need the best tools. We’re equipped with design classrooms with iMacs, scanners, digital projector and a Xerox Color 560 printer. In addition, there is an upper-class room with laptop stations, a 24-inch portfolio printer and a digital projector, as well as a seminar room with a 72-inch monitor for viewing.
You’ll learn the knowledge and skills necessary to become a career graphic designer as part of this focused, National Association of School of Arts & Design (NASAD) accredited program. With over 60 percent of credits concentrating on design and design-related coursework, the program is specialized to enhance and expand your communication and artistic abilities.
The Graphic Design program is engaged in the continual development and refinement of its curricula. These efforts reflect our Graphic Design faculty’s high standards of professionalism and scholarship, and their efforts to maintain up-to-date technologies and practices for the innovative study of graphic design.
