Assistive Technologies Inventory
Assistive technologies are any devices that help a person with hearing loss or a voice, speech, or language disorder to communicate. With the development of digital and wireless technologies, more and more devices are becoming available to help people with hearing, voice, speech, and language disorders communicate more meaningfully and participate more fully in their daily lives. We invite you to explore MSUM's Regional Assistive Technology Center inventory and to take it home and try it out.
Switch Activated Toy Train
Switch activated toy train that provides auditory and visual input to the user.

Switch that is easily activated and provides tactile and visual input to the user.
Switch that is easily activated and soft to the touch for the user.
Power Link 4
Device that gives the user the ability to control up to two electrical appliance via switches. Many different switch activation modes are available via this device.

Cause and Effect Switch Toys
Switch operated toys that make cause and effect evident to the user through the auditory feedback they will receive upon pressing the switch.
Candy Corn Proximity Switch
Switch that is activated through movement by the user and provides visual and auditory feedback.
Latitude Arm Mount
The latitude arm mount makes it easy to handle any mounting challenge you may face. It features multiple pivot points for maximum flexibility and an interchangeable connecting place that allows for connection of multiple devices.
The Hook+ switch interface provides a wired connection to Apple devices. It allows for connection of up to four switches to control your Apple device.
The Blue2 switch provides single or dual switch access via Bluetooth connection to iOS, Windows, Google Chrome, and Android devices. In addition to the two buttons on the switch, there are two external ports to connect an additional two switches.
The smart pen and smart notebook can be used to capture audio recordings while you take notes in the notebook. The smart notebook allows for playback of the audio recordings beginning at any point in your notes.
Sequencing:The Sequencing card sets include basic (3-step) sequencing, 4-step sequencing, and 6 & 8 step sequencing card sets. They can be used for sequential ordering, inferential predictions, and description of activities.
Everyday objects: The Everyday Objects picture cards are sorted into six color-coded categories: food, toys, household objects, furniture and electrical items, personal items, and clothes. They can be used to show basic understanding, understanding by function, understanding by attribute, and organization skills.
What can you see?:The “What can you see?” activity includes picture cards and a flipbook. Each image is gradually revealed, allowing for prediction of the image content.
