Editor's Note

Sometimes it’s fun to be transported into the world of make believe. On a frigid January afternoon I may be found binge watching Game of Thrones, a most magnificent fantasy world. My sons frequently partake in their favorite visually dramatic video games—Rocket League and Uncharted 4. My husband listens to books while traveling for work. And my daughter passes down time waiting for class to start by playing Design Home. It’s the work of animators, artists and designers that make these surreal experiences come to life.

Featured in this issue are alumni creating worlds of fantasy, animation and wonder. Some are lending their voices to tell stories or teach a concept. Still others are exploring how technology may create new venues on which to parlay their skills into jobs not yet known.

Our magazine cover (and my quirky likeness) is the work of one of our talented interns, Murtaza Azmi ’19 (advertising). If you follow @MSUMoorhead on social media, you’ll see his and Demi Turner’s ’19 (animation) animations frequently featured as well.

I hope you find time in your days to appreciate some make-believe wonder.

Thank you for reading.
