Ed 603 - Assignment 15 - The Final Project

For this final assignment for Ed 603, you are going to prepare a complete research plan or proposal. This proposal should be written in the present tense, in contrast to the completed study which would generally be written in the past tense. The good news is that you have already done all the parts of your proposal, this assignment is just to put all the parts together into a formal research proposal.

Use APA style throughout your proposal except you do not have to double space your paper, you should single space it, but double space between paragraphs (and between headings). The reference list should also be single spaced but double space between individual references.

Use APA style for the headings - Title, Introduction, Method, Data Analysis, and References will be your highest level of headings, they should be centered. Under these major headings will be the subheadings of Statement of the Problem, Review of Related Literature, Statement of the Hypothesis, Subjects, Instruments, Experimental Design, and Procedure. The subheadings should be left justified.

Specific Format for Completing the Final Project and sending it to the Ed 603 Instructor

You should create a word processing document for the final project with the following items or components:

  1. Title - the title of your proposal
  2. Your Name
  3. Introduction
    1. Statement of the problem - state your research problem in a general way or as a question. Include informal operational definitions of all variables. You have done this in Assignment 5. Your statement of the problem should be stated as a question or as a statement and should be in one of the forms discussed in Lesson 3 in the section "Models for Stating Research Problems".
    2. Review of related literature - Develop your review of the literature in a logical manner as you did in Assignment 5. Try to move from more general concerns to concerns more specific to your problem. The end of your literature review should lead to the hypothesis (or hypotheses) for your study. Your review of related literature should be at least 8-10 pages in length.
    3. Statement of the hypothesis. Formally state your research hypothesis including clearly stated, formal, operational definitions of all variables. You did this in Assignment 7.
  4. Method
    1. Subjects (you did this section in Assignment 8).
    2. Instruments (you did this section in Assignment 8).
    3. Experimental design (you did this section in Assignment 14).
    4. Procedure (you did this section in Assignment 14).
  5. Data analysis - Indicate how you propose to analyze your data, including specific statistical tests you will use with your data (you did this section in Assignment 14).
  6. References - Use APA style for your reference list (you did this in Assignment 5). For a research proposal you should have at least 15 references (15 to 25 references is optimal).

After you have completed the assignment (and saved it on your computer) send e-mail to your instructor indicating that you are sending the final project for Ed 603 in and then attach the file for the assignment to your email message. The e-mail address for the instructor, John Wasson, is wassonj@teleport.com
