VETERANS DAY EVENTS PLANNED IN FARGO/MOORHEAD AREA

  • Oak Grove Lutheran School will hold its program at 9:55 a.m. today in the Scheels Center for the Performing Arts, Fargo. Kyle Bakken, captain in the 119th Wing of the North Dakota National Guard, will be the featured speaker. The public and all veterans are welcome to attend. The program will honor veterans, who are encouraged to wear their uniforms.
  • The West Fargo VFW Post 7564, Ladies Auxiliary, and AMVETS will begin its program with a flag-raising in front of the VFW Post at 11 a.m. Sunday. A program will follow and conclude with a 21-gun salute.
  • The United Patriotic Bodies will gather at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Main Avenue, Fargo. A program will follow at 11:15 in Fargo Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
  • Stew will be served throughout the day at the Fargo American Legion and Fargo VFW, beginning at noon at both the West Fargo VFW and Moorhead American Legion and beginning at 7 p.m. at the Moorhead VFW. The Red River Valley Veteran's Concert Band will perform at noon at the Fargo VFW, at 3 p.m. at the Moorhead American Legion, and at 7 p.m. at the West Fargo VFW.
