    History of MSUM

Clarence [Soc] Glasrud, an MSTC alum and MSU Emeritus Professor of English, wrote two publications regarding the history of MSUM. The Moorhead Normal School, published in 1987, discusses the beginning of MSUM until 1920. Moorhead State Teachers College, published in 1990, continues the history from 1921-1957. Both paper and electronic formats are available. A book published in 2013, MSUM Memories: Reflections of the College and University 1888-2013, edited by former president Roland Dille and University Archivist Terry Shoptaugh, celebrates the 125th anniversary of MSUM. In connection with this, an online timeline is available.
