2007 Antiracist Multiculturalism Across the Curriculum Workshop
May 15-18; August 16, 2007
Coordinated by the MSUM TOCAR Academics Unit

The MSU Moorhead TOCAR (Training Our Campuses Against Racism) Academics Unit has obtained renewed funding for intensive training for approximately 20 faculty on how to better incorporate antiracism content and concepts into courses across the campus. This training is planned as a 4-day workshop in May led by nationally recognized presenters with a one day follow-up in August and on-going follow-ups in 2007-2008. Participants will develop curriculum modifications for existing or new courses that can then be implemented in upcoming semesters.

Goal: To help faculty incorporate anti-racist, multi-cultural content into courses across the curriculum

Dates:  May 13-16:
           Tuesday 5/13 2:00-9:00PM (dinner included)
           Wednesday & Thursday 5/14 & 5/15 8:30AM-4:30PM
           Friday 5/16 8:30AM-3:00PM
        

           Thursday, August 14: 9AM-3:00PM follow-up for project 
           participants

Stipend for Participants : $1000 plus meals and materials

Pre-requisite for Participants:
Prior to the May workshop, all participants should have participated in either the TOCAR Level I or Level II training (Note: Level II may be taken without having taken Level I). If you have not previously been through this training, opportunities to do so will be available for Level I training on Friday, January 25 and for Level II training on February 15-17 (Thurs. evening and all day Fri. & Sat.). The workshop will build particularly on the Level II training.

Applications are encouraged from faculty in all colleges across campus. Our presenters highly recommend that teams of faculty apply, however, this is not mandatory.
