Auditions for Compleat Female State Beauty

Auditions for the MSUM production of Compleat Female Stage Beauty will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on the Gaede Stage.
Callbacks will be on Tuesday, October 7 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm; Wednesday, October 8 from 5:30 – 7:00pm; and Thursday, October 9 from 6 – 7:30pm. Actors may or may not be called back for all call back dates.
Performance dates are February 25 – 28, 2009.
For the initial audition, please prepare a monologue that is no more than 90 seconds in length. A sign up sheet will be posted on the Theatre callboard. In choosing your monologue, please take the following into consideration:
- Your monologue should reflect the character you are most suited for and/or are most interested in playing.
- This play is set in Restoration England (1661) – your piece should reflect this time period. (Or, at least, should be from a play that is non-contemporary in setting.)
- We will be using a British dialect in this production. If you are proficient in this dialect, you are encouraged to use it in your audition.
- Please read the play prior to auditions. Copies for loan are available in the Theatre office.
Callbacks will consist of readings from the script.
