About Us

Minnesota State University Moorhead's Technology Department aims to weave three common threads throughout the curriculum: solid technological skills that are flexible, instinctive and adaptable; analytical and thoughtful problem solving abilities with an aptitude to think globally and futuristically; and strong interpersonal skills to manage and support a team-oriented, project-driven environment. Faculty in MSUM's dynamic Technology Department work together to provide a solid academic foundation that prepares graduates to advance professionally and personally.

The mission of the Department of Technology is to provide quality education in Construction Management and Operations Management, fulfilling the needs of the students and the businesses that hire Department of Technology graduates plus the educational institutions that accept program transfers. The vision is to strive to be the regional top educational provider by offering accredited programs in Construction Management BS degree and Operations Management BS degree.

Construction Management

MSUM is Minnesota's only American Council of Construction Education (ACCE) accredited CM program. ACCE is the leading national advocate of quality construction education and establishes standards and criteria for excellence and acts as the national accrediting agency for four-year baccalaureate degree programs in construction management.

Being an ACCE (American Council for Construction Education) Accredited Bachelor's Program:

•  Certifies quality and denotes high academic standards to students, parents and future employers that cannot be evaluated in any other way.
• Identifies the program as having met rigid standards, not only in curriculum, but also in faculty knowledge and faculty experience in the industrial field.
• Requires that the program curriculum be current and have high standards, including all of the essential elements, and maintain a competitive edge so graduates can find employment compatible with their abilities and the demands of industry.

Operations Management

Operations Management covers a wide spectrum of technical expertise and management training and offers multiple career options. The combination of a two-year technical degree and the leadership training that comes with a four-year B.S. degree makes 2+2 OM graduates more likely to gain promotions, and hold senior management and leadership positions. Obtaining a four-year B.S. degree will help you increase your earning potential, expand your career options, and allow you to utilize your technical background while becoming a leader in your chosen field.

Being an ATMAE (The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering) Accredited Bachelor's Program:

• Certifies quality and denotes high academic standards to students, parents and future employers that cannot be evaluated in any other way.
