Summer Housing
General Information
- To be eligible for summer housing all previous housing charges must be paid in full.
- Any MSUM student must be enrolled in at least one summer session to live on campus.
- Our billing period ends on Saturdays. Therefore, if you check out of your room later than Saturday, you will be charged for an additional week.
- Rooms are not air conditioned.
- KISE COMMONS is closed during the summer. Limited food services will be available at Subs and Sweets in the Student Union and at Café Connection in Flora Frick.
- Each room will be provided with a microfridge. A fee of $25 will be charged for any microfridge that is not defrosted and/or cleaned at check-out time.
Eligibility
- You must be enrolled in at least one summer school session in Dates/Procedures order to live in summer housing.
- If you are enrolled for fall semester AND you have a housing contract for fall, you may stay through the interim for the same weekly summer housing rate.
Rates & Payment Information
- Full payment is required in advance of a room assignment. We will begin making summer room assignments on May 4, 2009. You must sign up in the Housing Office during normal business hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
- The following forms of payment will be accepted: cash, money order, check, and credit card (MasterCard, Visa and Discover).
- If you have Financial Aid for summer and wish to use it to pay for summer school housing, you will need to get a Housing deferment form from the Housing Office. If you have any questions call 477-2118.
- A $50 administrative fee will be charged for any contract cancellation.

Important Check-In Dates/Procedures
- Summer housing check-in for those students who currently live on campus will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Grantham Desk.
- Those students, who have not applied and made payment for summer housing, must contact the Housing Office on the next business day to obtain a room assignment. No exceptions will be made!
- If you are currently living on campus, be sure to have your current room clean and ready for check out by 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009. You will receive your keys for summer housing at the Grantham desk, so you can move
your belongings and be ready for housing staff to check you out of your current room. Check out must be completed by 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2009 - Those students currently living in Grantham and enrolled in summer school will, in most cases, be able to continue living in the same room during the summer. To ensure this, application/contract & payment should be submitted to the
Housing Office prior to May 1, 2009. - Students who are not continuing residents will begin their summer check-in at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the Grantham Desk.
Interim Housing Dates: July 25 - August 18
- Interim housing is available only for those students who have a fall room assignment.
- All other students must be checked out by 7:00 pm on the last day of their summer school class.
