    Kanda, JP

    MSUM students can study at Kanda University for International Studies, located near Tokyo in Japan's Chiba prefecture. The 10-month intensive Japanese language program allows MSUM students to study at KUIS while paying regular MSUM tuition. Students should have previous knowledge of the Japanese language before applying to this program. Students should also have completed two years of study at MSUM at the time of exchange.     Kanto Gakuin, JP

    Located in Yokohama, immediately south of Tokyo, Kanto Gakuin has programs in intensive Japanese language and culture. Students pay MSUM tuition for this program, which is ideal for East Asian Studies majors. Applicants should have previous knowledge of the Japanese language before applying, and must have completed two years of study at MSUM by the time of exchange. Click here for more information.

    Nagoya, JP

    Located in Nagoya, Japan's fourth largest city, the Institute for Japanese Studies allows MSUM students the opportunity to study Japanese language and culture at one of five proficiency levels. Students pay regular MSUM tuition for this intensive Japanese language and culture program, located two hours west of Tokyo. Student should have previous knowledge of the Japanese language before applying to this program and must have completed two years at MSUM by the time of exchange. Click here for more information.

    Ritsumeikan APU, JP

    Students may study at APU, Beppu, Japan for a semester or a year. This exchange may be an excellent opportunity for students who require a study abroad experience, where they are not concentrating solely on language acquisition, as many courses are taught in English. However, students would be expected to take a Japanese language course in addition to their other courses. Students need a 2.5 GPA. Click here for more information.

    Tsuda, JP

    Female students can gain intensive language study and culture courses at Tsuda over a semester or a year. Students must have reached the “low intermediate” level of their study in Japanese before applying. Applicants must have a 2.8 minimum GPA and be either a junior or senior. Click here for more information.

    Chung-Ang, KR

    Spend a year or semester at Chung-Ang University in Seoul. MSUM students can enroll in LASC-type courses taught strictly in English or take Korean language and culture courses taught in both Korean and English. Students need a 2.5 GPA or higher and must be of at least sophomore standing. This is a very cost-effective program. Click here for more information.
