The Straw Hat Players is the preeminent summer theatre program in the region, sponsored by the Theatre Arts Department. The mission of The Straw Hat Players is to provide:

• A training ground for students in theatre at Minnesota State University Moorhead emphasizing their understanding and experience in various aspects of production.
• Quality, live entertainment from the best popular, classic and original repertory of musicals and plays for theatre audiences in the region.
• A production showcase for students, alumni, faculty and staff.
