www.mnstate.edu/career
Career Services at MSUM is located in CMU 114 and provides a wide variety of services for students and alumni who are seeking jobs or exploring career options. The Resource Center (in the student union—CMU 114) includes many directories and MSUM students and alumni may request a flyer of the on-line vacancy listings (with user names and passwords) for internships and job opportunities to which Career Services subscribes. The vacancy listings and DragonCareers—which you will find at “Register Online” on the navigation bar of our website www.mnstate.edu/career—offer opportunities in business, industry, government and education. DragonCareers is the web-based system that connects candidates for jobs and internships with prospective employers. Employers list their opportunities in DragonCareers at any time, free of charge, and can access your resume online.
In addition to personalized service by appointment in CMU 114, and on a walk-in basis at our Satellite office in CB, Career Services website www.mnstate.edu/career will support your career planning, internship or job search strategy. Students are encouraged to register with Career Services via DragonCareers (DC) two semesters prior to graduation, or as a junior seeking an internship. First year students and sophomores may register via DC to explore the opportunities and gain insight that may be helpful in selecting elective courses, a major, minor or area of emphasis. You will need a resume to register in DC, but you can select the option that does not allow employer viewing if you are not ready to accept an internship or a professional job opportunity.
In our Resource Center (CMU 114), you will find career information, job market projections, salary statistics of recently hired new graduates and a wide array of resources to use in researching organizations to give you a competitive edge when you apply for jobs and internships. You may practice interviewing via InterviewStream—a virtual mock interview system—which is a link on our HomePage. InterviewStream will record your interview via a webcam on a computer in a private room in CMU 114 and email the interview to you so you can have it evaluated by others whose opinions you value. In CMU 114, we have three computers with a laser printer that you may use as you search for jobs and internships. Under “Job Vacancies” at www.mnstate.edu/career, you will find many links to job opportunities nationwide and in the tri-state area. Other lists of links to jobs can be found under “Job Search” if you select Major Specific.
We offer workshops to prepare you for the job hunt and participation in career fairs. We encourage you to have your resume reviewed by a professional in Career Services and to take advantage of on-campus recruiting for jobs and internships. You will find information at www.mnstate.edu/career under Job Vacancies and Fairs and Events on the navigation bar.

by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with

their disability. Information is shared with others only on a need
to know basis. Upon request by the student or faculty member (with
the student’s permission), the office of Disability Services will
provide verification of the student’s eligibility, as well as what

encouraged to register with Disability Services to discuss their
needs, as well as appropriate aids and services. They are also
encouraged to discuss their needs with individual faculty members,
as it is generally best to accommodate students in the most
integrated setting possible.
