Special Thanks to:

Other information gathered from:

 * Cataloged the quilt and found out that it was made of common materials, including cotton fabric, cotton batting and some silk embroidery. The quilt was in a very worn condition, which indicated that at some time it had been used  on an everyday basis. We also discovered that the names on the quilt were first written in pencil then stitched over with embroidered floss.

* We researched names from the 1899 census, which proved to be a dawning task due to the lack of organization and poor handwriting used to record the information.

 * We visually documented the quilt for use on the web exhibit.

From all this gathered information we were able to organize  and visually plot it on a diagram o make the " bigger picture" easier to understand.

Pam  for showing us around the Historical Society and using Ancestory.com for us. Mark for showing us how to use the microfiche to look at the census and other researching tips. And lastly Lisa Wierschke for starting the initial research.
