When researching the names on the quilt, we came across many
names that we were unable to locate. These missing names on the gave
us many questions. Where these people not even from Clay County? Had
someone pay to have these names for people that were not living in the
Clay County area? Could they have been a memorial of their passing?
These questions will go unanswered, but for now no matter the case they
still left us something of themselves even if only through their
signatures.
