1928 to 1932
| Freemasons |
These are the two years that the city directories yielded the least amount
of information about the influence the three remaining fraternities had in
the surveyed
period.
What was uncovered was Freemason C.A. Ballad, held the position of 4th ward councilmen. Mr. C.A. Ballad was a professor at Moorhead Normal School (now MSUM) and past worshipful master of the Moorhead lodge of Ancient Free and accepted Masons. Ballad served on the city committee's of Electric Light & Water Works, purchasing, ordinances, and a committee on the poor. Figures from pervious years continued to serve on local government, such as O.C. Beck, C.A. Nye, E.U. Wade, and Mrs. A.H. Costain. Mrs. Costain served as a member of the library board. She was the wife of the Director of 1st national bank and Freemason. |
