Planting of New Trees: New trees will be planted around the new Wellness Center to replace some of those taken down for construction. More details will follow as they become available.
Bike Racks: New red bike racks have been installed in both the academic and residence areas of campus to encourage students, faculty and staff to use their bicycles for transportation rather than cars. The racks were installed in two phases with over 40 racks total.
Promoting Recycled Merchandise in the MSUM Bookstore and Etcetera Shop: SCIC is proud to announce that the bookstore now carries sustainable products. Items included are: keychains, pencils, pens and highlighters made of recycled materials and organic cotton T-shirts.

Past Projects
Planting of new trees: In the fall of 2007 SCIC funded the planting of 26 new trees around several buildings on campus. In the spring of 2008, 26 more trees will be planted. The trees will help shade the buildings and lower energy demands.

Winner Announced!-Ali Earley, an MSUM Graphic Design Senior (Spring 2005 Graduate) created the winning logo design. She was pleased the committee was able to find a logo that works for them and is a supporter of the committee's efforts.
MSUM Joins the National Wildlife Federation Camus Ecology Program:For more than a decade, National Wildlife Federation's Campus Ecology Program has been helping transform the nation’s college and university campuses into living models of an ecologically sustainable society, and training a new generation of environmental leaders. Campus Ecology supports and promotes positive and practical conservation projects on campus and beyond to protect wildlife by restoring habitat and slowing global warming.
