Past Environmental and Energy Improvements Few people know about the things MSUM has done in the past to ensure that the University is not only in compliance with all environmental regulations, but also that we exceed what is required with our facilities and policies. MSUM is the largest participant in the Moorhead Public Service CAPTURE THE WIND Program. This program involves the two 750kw wind turbines located in north Moorhead. MSUM became a participant in 1998 and has a 10 year contract to purchase the energy produced by the two turbines. For information on the program, please explore the Moorhead Public Service website.
Past and current projects and improvements can be researched by reading the MSUM yearly Pollution Prevention Report. Please visit the Environmental Health and Safety Website, or contact EHS at 477-2998 to learn more. |
