Fargo Police Department GLBT Liaison Program
"The Fargo Police Department is committed to promoting a positive relationship with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) community by appointing police officers as liaisons. The department strives to provide all citizens of Fargo with quality service and a secure community. We are committed to creating and preserving a positive partnership with the community we serve."
"The GLBT liaison officers are expected to:
- Improve relationships and promote cooperation between the GLBT community and the Fargo Police Department.
- Ensure bias crimes or crimes targeting the GLBT community are properly documented and investigated.
- Assist crime victims in the GLBT community through the reporting and investigation process.
- Provide support and assistance with law enforcement investigations that involve the GLBT community.
- Provide and/or facilitate training and education to the GLBT and law enforcement communities.
- Visit with citizens and businesses who seek assistance from the department regarding GLBT issues.
