This is the first data Eyes on Wildlife ever received from a collared animal. Through grants, a satellite collar was purchased for the wolf dispersal research taking place at the Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge. Biologists trapped and collared "Stubby" the wolf in September, 1997. Satellite transmissions were received through April, 1998. The purpose of the satellite collar was to monitor and observe dispersal movements the young wolf might display in order to understand better the factors which determine where, when and why wolves disperse.
