As data is collected from the collar transmissions, students plot the data using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software.  Students then make observations based on their map regarding animal behavior such as habitat preference, home range, dispersal patterns, seasonal and diurnal patterns.

This wolf has been named "Superwolf" by the students. As you look at
the travels on the map below, we think you will see why! This wolf was
collared in March, 1999 and was killed December, 1999.
