MSUM lives its mission of developing “knowledge, talent, and skills for a lifetime of learning, service and citizenship.” It embodies everything we do, from academic programs and support services to residential life and wellness. Learning takes place in and out of the classroom every single day.
Dragon Core
Dragon Core is MSUM’s signature curriculum for life-long learning that builds on fundament skills and knowledge necessary for success. Dragon Core builds skill acquisition and development into the curriculum.
“In today’s global economyit is not uncommon to work in a team comprised of members from a number of different cultures, countries, and cross-functional areas. And because people see things differently, this demands clear, concise, communication; intense listening skills; compromise; empathy; and ability to compete with minds and metaphors that “think” differently. This team diversity creates a complex situation requiring broader analysis, compromise, team-building, trust and co-dependence. Dragon Core prepares students to meet these challenges.”

Academic support
Our goal is to challenge students academically, but we also want to help students meet those challenges successfully. MSUM supports academic success through a variety of programs: extensive orientation, First Year Experience, supplemental instruction, free tutoring, personal development courses, Write Site, and study skills workshops. These programs are available to all students.
