WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO DO
As you’ve seen throughout your site visit, MSUM is similar to a small town within a larger community. We offer everything a college student needs, mostly on campus, but certainly within a short distance from the University.

Computers galore
MSUM supports more than 40 student computer labs on campus (Windows and Macs), and some are accessible 24/7 with your Dragon ID card. You can access the campus network and the Internet through various wireless points on campus; partake in MSUM’s e-software service; download iTunes from MSUM; or learn about list serves.

 Workout facilities
MSUM has two locations on campus for students to work out. Alex Nemzek Hall is the cornerstone of MSUM’s athletic complex. It features a state-of-the-art weight room, aerobics fitness center, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and a six-lane, 25-yard pool, among other features.

The Dragon Wellness Center is located in a temporary facility until the new Wellness Center is completed (anticipated 2008). Programs and facilities include: group exercise, fitness programs, personal training, nutrition services, Paramount strength equipment, free weights, Precor bikes, treadmills and elliptical trainers, a basketball court, a cardio theatre, and massage services.

Get well soon
You don’t have to be sick to visit the doctor. Our on-campus Hendrix Health Center provides a variety of services, including non-emergent ambulatory care, pharmacy and laboratory services, health promotion and counseling, and a variety of counseling services.

 Center of campus life
The Comstock Memorial Union is an innovative, student-centered organization and facility, delivering valued services and programs that enhance campus life and inspire University involvement and commitment. The programs and services housed in the CMU are far too numerous to include here, but here’s a little peak at what’s inside: banking, copy center, Etcetera gift shop, Hot Heads Salon, Recreation and Outing Center, campus information center, food (including Burger King & Pizza Hut), student lounges and meeting rooms, plus so much more.

Working for a living
Let your fingers do the walking at MSUM’s online job shop, Dragon Jobs. You can sort through on- or off-campus job listings, summer employment or summer camps. You can keep your search narrow or widen it for employment options across the country.

A place for everyone
The Women’s Center, located in MacLean Hall, fulfills its vision of empowering women by promoting feminist activism and women’s self-determination. The Women’s Center educates the campus community and creates a space for students, faculty and staff to socialize and share ideas in a respectful manner.

Multicultural Activities
MSUM’s multicultural affairs office is actively involved in creating a welcoming and diverse campus environment that embraces cultural differences. Recognized multicultural student organizations include American Indian Student Association, Asian American Association, Black Student Alliance, and Organización Latina Americana.

Training Our Campuses Against Racism (TOCAR) is a Tri-College and community collaboration that seeks to enhance campus climate and promote equal opportunity by advancing multicultural understanding and competence and confronting ethnic/racial prejudice, discrimination and institutional racism.
