How To Compute Your GPA

The method of computing your GPA is to multiply the credit hours a class is worth

(4-credit class, 3-credit class, 2-credit class, 1-credit class) by the honor points

for the grade you received.

Honor Points:
A+ = 4.00

A   = 4.00

A-  = 3.67
B+ = 3.33

B   = 3.00

B-  = 2.67
C+ = 2.33

C   = 2.00

C-  = 1.67
D+ = 1.33

D   =1.00

D-  = 0.67
F   = 0

Multiply the credit value times the honor point associated with that grade.

Total all credits for the term.

Total all honor points for the term.

Divide the total honor points by the total number of credits = GPA

How to Compute Your Major GPA: Follow the procedures above including only those classes needed to complete your major.  This may include only core classes or you may include related requirements and supporting electives that were taken to fulfill requirements of your major.  Label this Major GPA on your resume because the number will not match the cumulative GPA on your Minnesota State University Moorhead transcript.

How to Compute Your Combined GPA: A combined GPA includes coursework completed at other universities/colleges. You may want to include all of your coursework completed at other universities if it would raise your GPA.  Title this Combined GPA on your resume because this number will not match your cumulative GPA on your Minnesota State University Moorhead transcript.
