A number of students recently attended the Northern Lights Psychology Conference held at the University of North Dakota.  The invited speaker this year was Elizabeth Loftus.  The followng presentations were given by MSUM students:

Joseph Dombeck: Two ways of increasing your physical attractiveness: Smiling and having blonde hair

Katherine Klipfel: Does cognitive dissonace affect gender stereotypes? An exploration of cognitive   dissonance and gender stereotyping.

Kimberly Olson: Serial position effect for the implicit memory of television commercials in immediate and delayed testing.

Kristy Fedde, Shizuka Sasagawa, Maggie Williams, Kayla Muennich, & Gary Nickell: The influence of luck on the optimistic bias.

Shantell Kuhlmann: The perception of beauty when facial features are highlighted with cosmetics.

Megan Stone, Angela Ley, Molly Cook, Sherryse Mayo, & Magdalene Chalikia: Auditory scene analysis in children and adults using mixtures of environmental sounds.
