Congratulations to Dr. Elizabeth Nawrot for receiving a research grant from the National Institutes of Health in order to continue her investigation of The Development of Depth Perception from Motion Parallax in Human Infants. This is an National Institutes of Health R15 grant for $150,000 over three years (Elizabeth Nawrot, Principal Investigator).

Summary: Infants perceive depth early in life from a variety of cues, including those that arise from the two eyes working together (binocular stereopsis) and from object and self-motion . This research may help to understand the development of certain visual disorders of motion and depth processing related to depth perception that are first evident in infancy. Funding will be used to support the PI and undergraduate student researchers in the Psychology Department.
