Accomplishments for Academic Year 2003-2004

Gary Nickell, Psychology, co-presented two research posters at the
Society for Industrial and Organization Psychology conference in
Chicago, April 1-4. This research was conducted in collaboration
with Dr. Verlin Hinsz from the Psychology department at NDSU. The
posters were titled “Predicting food safety and security behaviors
in turkey-processing workers” and “A motivational model of product
safety and security behaviors.”
On October 18, faculty and students from the Psychology Department attended the Northern Lights Psychology conference at UND. Two undergraduate students, Autumn Ascano and Abby Johnson, gave presentations of their research. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Philip Zimbardo, past president of the American Psychological Association and host of the popular Nova television series "Discovering Psychology". In attendance were psychology faculty Gary Nickell, Magdalene Chalikia, Peg Potter, Chris Malone and Lisa Nawrot, and students Troy Ertelt, Amanda Muser, Leah Dirckx and Erica Hauck.
