Looking for summer research experience?
These will be 3 or so month summer research experiences where you will be in a major laboratory.  You will be expected to work throughout the summer in the laboratory and will be compensated from $3,000 to 4,000 depending on the program.  The deadlines very starting in December through February.  These positions are competitive and you need to start the process ASAP.
National Science Foundation funded summer research sites.  A long searchable list of many science areas.
Kathleen Cornely - Providence College - A great source for many sites of summer research
National Institutes of Health Research Opportunities - Links to health related research (look at both intra and extramural links)
Amherst list of undergraduate research opportunities.
Search (Google) for "Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR)" - These are individual schools funded by Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  One of the most prestigious private biomedical research foundations.  You might start your search at HHMI.org.  Search the site for the SPUR info.
Another good place to google is for the "Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship" programs.
Grad School . com - This is there list of Biochemistry Graduate Programs.  If you see a school here your are interested, emial them and ask about a summer position.  Do this early.  You may need to ask specific faculty at the university for this type of experience.
