Time Lines and Activities


November and December

 

  • Discuss and agree on outline of vision statement.
  • Form any needed additional subgroups (e.g., global issues). Listen to three panels.
  • Obtain additional information as needed.
  • Write a brief draft context statement that will serve to set the stage of the vision document.
January and Early February

 

  • Review update on Board of Trustees 2020 Plan.
  • Receive information updates for subgroups.
  • Discuss various market niche scenarios as a full task force.
  • Write first draft of vision statement.
  • Circulate first draft to task force and revise as needed from feedback.
  • Hold town meeting to discuss draft vision statement and post on web for campus feedback.
Late February and March

 

  • Continue to refine draft vision statement from task force and campus feedback.
  • Examine current mission statement.
  • Discuss potential changes resulting from draft vision statement.
  • Complete draft revision of mission statement.
  • Hold town meeting to discuss revised vision and mission statements.
  • Post both draft vision and draft mission statements on web for campus feedback.
April

 

  • Revise vision and mission statements as needed from campus feedback.
  • Ask various campus stakeholder groups to consider motions in support of the statements.
May

 

  • Prepare mission statement for presentation to Board of Trustees.
  • Discuss draft of logistics for inclusive strategic planning process to implement vision process.
  • Hold final town meeting to discuss vision, mission, and upcoming strategic planning process.
