Svaldi will begin his two days of meetings with MSUM and community members on Tuesday, March 25th. He received his Ph.D. in communication studies from Northwestern University in 1983. He received a master’s in speech communication in 1972 and his bachelor’s degree in speech and English in 1970, both from the University of Northern Colorado.
Svaldi has taught communication at Adams State College since 1986. He held academic assignments in speech at West Georgia College (1981-86), Eastern Illinois University (1978-81) and Washburn University (1972-76). He joined the administration at Adams College in 1998 as Vice President for Academic Affairs. In 2005 he was appointed Provost and Acting President. In 2006 he was named President of the college.
