Technology Task Force Long Term Goals

A – Instructional

1)  Classrooms, labs and conference facilities will have appropriate technology.

2)   Faculty, students and staff will  become engaged with technology.

3)  Students, faculty and staff will have access to a comprehensive training program in the use and application of appropriate types of instructional technology.

4)  Departments should collaborate to offer instruction that integrates technological innovation with traditional teaching.

5)  MSUM should encourage the development of blended and e-learning instructional materials.

B – Administrative

1)  Develop and revise regularly a plan to replace/recycle existing technology for faculty, staff and students.

2)  Develop processes to evaluate, prioritize and approve new campus technology while encouraging innovation.

3)  Obtain significant support for technology through corporate support and with grants from private foundations and the federal government.

4) Create efficient  communication with faculty, staff,  students, prospective students and alumni tailored to meet their needs.

5)  Provide support for staff training and development.

C - Infrastructure

1)  Provide wireless access campus wide

2)  Provide off campus  access to shared files.

3)  Ensure technological  compatibility with other institutions to provide for collaborative relationships.

4)  Maintain systems for optimal speed and performance.

5)  Make systems user friendly.

6)  Provide university resources  for innovation and to support   technology.

7)  Provide university facilities for  appropriate learning environments
