Students in this degree emphasis will learn to understand the options available in the sustainable energy generatiaon field, the design and application of the various energy sources, and conservation of energy to help move to a sustainable future. Employment areas that could benefit from this degree are businesses that are in or wish to enter the sustainable energy field, public and private utilities and coops, and rural communities.
PHYS 469 must be taken for a minimum of 3 credits and a maximum of 6 credits may count toward the emphasis.
Students must take HIST 379 and/or CHEM 340. Students must take four courses selected from ANTH 307, CM 327, GEOS 335, HIST 379, POL 345, PSY 324 or SOC 319. Students must take three courses selected from BIOL 346, CHEM 304, GEOS 305, GEOS 330 or PSCI 378.
