- 20,000 - 40,000 pounds of steam is used per hour during heating season, totaling approximately 120,000,00 pounds in one year.
- There is a total of four boilers at the MSUM Heating Plant, three are high pressure and one is a low pressure boiler.
- The high pressure boilers are capable of producing 162,500 pounds per hour, while the low pressure boiler produces 20,000 pounds per hour.
- #2 oil is used to produce the steam 7-14 days of the year and gas the other 329 days of the year. (Use approximately 7,000 gallons/day when burning oil.) (Use approximately 125,000,000 CCF of gas.)
- A complete renovation of the Heating Plant was conducted in 1995, totaling $4 million dollars of construction.
