  • Meet the Students

MSUM students are doing amazing things. Our students embrace diversity, challenges, opportunities, unique experiences and continue to produce incredible results. Our students participate in student organizations, attend and present at regional and national conferences, compete at regional and national competitions, collaborate on faculty-mentored projects, gain hands-on experience through internships, help coordinate community service projects, and more. Many have won prestigious scholarships for academic excellence and many have won awards for their stellar work inside and outside of the classroom. See what the students from the Paralegal Department are doing.

  • Student Testimonials

    Kayla Peterson, Paralegal

“The faculty are all so excited about the field and about you and your success. It helps to be encouraged by the people who teach you. They are always willing to help, and you can go and talk to them about whatever you need.”

"We had a class in Elder Law and we actually get to have our own clients that we work with and we help them draft a health care directive. That's really fun to get the one-on-one and to actually get to have your own client."

"Looking at the paralegal program as a whole and MSUM, the professors are always there to help you and I just feel that there is no better place that I could have become prepared for my degree and to go out into the field."

  • Lisa Wertman, Paralegal

“With a four-year program, you have a more well-rounded education. You have a broader understanding of what’s going on. You touch base with everything from probate, to taxes, to civil, to criminal, to family law. You touch on everything so that when you begin your career, you may not have a huge amount of work experience but you’re not lost.”

"The MSUM paralegal program is one of the very few American Bar Association accredited programs. It is ABA approved so the program is under rigorous scrutiny by the ABA for the context of the classes, the amount of credits for classes, what classes you will take and it's all meshed together to give you a very good quality education."
