Student Organization Advisory Committee
SOAC, Student Organization Advisory Committee, is a committee comprised solely of students and is the governing body for all student organizations. Services provided include the following:
- Assists the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizations in providing information regarding the recognition process for all organizations
- Reviews the constitutions as submitted, evaluating for compliance with constitution guidelines and state and federal guidelines; i.e. Equal Opportunity and Title IX
- Forwards new constitutions to Student Senate and the University President upon SOAC approval
- Serves as a resource for the resolution of organization conflicts
- Calls hearings when a grievance had been filed against a student organization
- Participates in policy decisions regarding student organizations and the Office of Student Activities
- Assists the Office of Student Activities in the planning and hosting of student organization events.
