BSN Student Orientation
A mandatory student orientation will be held for all incoming BSN nursing students on Aug 21, 2008 from 10:30-5:00 in Murray Commons, Rm 208. This orientation covers much of the infomation you'll need to get off to a great start in the nursing program. It is very important that you attend this meeting, not only so you get the information, but so we get uniform sizing, pictures, pre-program assessment, and online course orientation accomplished.
This orientation follows the All University Convocation for students and faculty that is held in the Center for the Arts at 9:15. This convocation kicks off the academic year and you get a chance to 'meet' the president, vice presidents, student senate president, and other people important to a successful college experience. After the convocation, you'll go right over to Murray Commons for the nursing student orientation.

BSN Curriculum (120 credits)
The nursing curriculum consists of nursing courses, co-requisite courses, and Dragon Core (general education) courses taken together throughout all eight semesters. There are two or more nursing courses, including a laboratory or clinical course, in every semester.
Although the program is completed in three years of eight consecutive semesters, this is not considered an accelerated program. The nursing courses are taken in sequence, so transfer students who may have several general education or other required supporting courses completed will still require eight semesters for completion of the nursing courses.
