National Residence Hall Honorary
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a service organization of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls ( NACURH ), Inc..
NACURH firmly believes in the value of student involvement in all capacities of life in the residence halls including the educational, social, and recreational realms. NRHH was established to give recognition to outstanding student leaders within the residence hall systems on their campuses, in their regions, and nationally.
NRHH chapters are organized locally on individual campuses. Chapters are made of the top 1% of the residence hall population or 15 residents, whichever is greater. The goal of the organization is to recognize and acknowledge individuals who work toward the betterment of residence hall life. Nominate someone for induction into NRHH by completing the on-line NRHH Induction Nomination form .
Each chapter is charged with recognizing residence hall leaders through awards. These awards are known as "Of the Months" for many categories including; Program of the Month, Student of the Month, Resident Assistant (RA) of the Month, Spotlight of the Month, NRHH Chapter of the Month, National Communications Coordinator (NCC) of the Month, Executive Board Member of the Month, and Advisor of the Month. If you feel someone deserves recognition, nominate them using the on-line OTM Nomination form .
The NRHH Colors
The blue symbolizes loyalty to purpose and idea. White signifies a blank page: a page on which a student writes the successes and experiences that fill their days in the residence halls.
The NRHH Logo
The symbol for NRHH is a diamond surrounding the letters of the organization and three interconnected lines, the chain of leadership. The diamond, the world's most precious gem, signifies the value and beauty one finds in the residence halls experience.
The first link of the chain represents caring. Leaders are people who care. They are concerned about themselves and others and are committed to making things better.
The second link signifies dedication. Part of a leader's commitment is the dedication to the cause which they display. Dedication is an important part of the involvement required to be truly effective.
The third link represents participation. True leaders participate fully in their academic pursuits, their friendships, their activities, and their lives. Leaders don't sit on the sidelines, but are competent team players.
Together the unbroken chain symbolizes the membership of NRHH. As leaders we are interconnected as caring and dedicated participants in the community of your university.
