Jenny Dufault is on the voice faculty at MSUM and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and Master’s degree in music from the Crane School of Music located in Potsdam, NY.  She has also completed graduate work at both Boston and Indiana Universities. Jenny has performed with the Opera Institute in Boston, Indiana University, and with the Brevard Opera Company in North Carolina. She has appeared in roles such as Dorabella, from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti and Mother Marie from Poulenc’s Dialogue of the Carmelites. For several summers she worked and performed at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Locally, Jenny has been a featured soloist for MSUM’s orchestra, the Fargo/Moorhead Chamber Choral, NDSU’s Baroque Festival, and a member of the Concordia Singers. Jenny is an active recitalist and has performed on many faculty recitals at MSUM.

Currently, Jenny teaches applied voice, song literature, opera workshop, and opera literature. Jenny is also the coordinator of the Kodály Summer Institute that takes place each year on the MSUM campus. This is a graduate program that trains teachers to become better musicians as well as instructors based upon the Kodály method. Jenny teaches the elementary music methods course, supervises student teachers during their elementary field experiences, and assists with their placement while student teaching.
