Dr. Lisa Lee Sawyer


Lisa Lee Sawyer has been an adjunct member of the Music Department since fall 2001. A native of Magnolia, Arkansas, she received her undergraduate degree in music from Southern Arkansas University and her Master of Music degree in vocal performance at Northeast Louisiana University. In 1990 she completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts in vocal performance from the University of Missouri/Kansas City. She taught at Black Hills State University from 1987-1990, and currently is teaching at Concordia College, Moorhead, and MSUM.

Lisa Lee has found a real love of teaching general music, and is currently teaching “The Art of Listening,” a liberal arts course which surveys western European music since the Renaissance. She is a member of the American Musicological Society and the College Music Society. Frequently she can be found working in conjunction with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony and the Fargo-Moorhead opera to forward the cause of music in the schools and the community.
