Music Education at MSUM
|
Minnesota State University Moorhead offers the Bachelor of Science in Music Education in preparation for teacher certification and a career as a music education specialist. Students choose a vocal-choral and/or an instrumental emphasis. Studies include preparation in a variety of music education approaches, including those of Kodály. There are excellent opportunities to observe and to teach with the many fine music education specialists in the elementary and secondary schools in the Fargo-Moorhead area. In addition, there are students chapters of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). The Northern Plains Kodály Chapter and the national headquarters of the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE) are based in Fargo. |
