Music Department

Kodály Program

The Kodály Method Summer Program is a graduate-level program designed for qualified educators and music supervisors at every level of musical instruction, from elementary, junior and senior high school through college and university-level students. To achieve Kodály certification, participants must complete all three sequential courses in the program. The courses are taught by an exceptional collection of certified Kodály instructors in a friendly, supportive, and educationally-focused environment.

Kodály Certificate

The Kodály concept emphasizes music literacy based on singing folk songs.
Music concepts are taught through a developmental sequence of skills. Teaching techniques include solfege syllables, Curwin handsigns and rhythm syllables.
