Scholarship Selection Process: - All application requirements must be submitted by the deadline of December 1, 2004.
(All graduate students in the school counseling are eligible but second year students are typically more competitive for this scholarship because they have more counseling related experience.)
- Selection will be completed and the winner notified by January 31, 2005.
- The award will be presented at the Annual MSCA Conference.
- The Vice-President of Post-Secondary will coordinate the scholarship and also be the person to whom application materials are sent.
- All Minnesota counselor education programs will be notified of this scholarship by June.
- Scholarship applications will be read by the President-Elect, the Vice Presidents of Post-Secondary, Secondary, Middle, and Elementary, Public Relations Chairs, and Career Development Chair.

Scholarship Application Form for Potential School Counselors
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to an individual pursuing a masters degree in guidance and counseling, with a school counseling emphasis from a state approved institution.
Application deadline is December 1, 2004, winner will be notified January 31, 2005, and the award will be presented at the Annual MSCA Conference.
Please submit:
- MSCA scholarship application
- Resume/ including related employment, volunteer or community involvement, and professional memberships.
- Transcripts of all post-secondary education
- One page statement of professional goals
- Recommendation letter from counselor educator
- Letter verifying enrollment in a Minnesota School Counseling Program
(Include office and home telephone numbers)
