Life's Short, Party Smart!

If you decide to go out to a party, follow these simple suggestions to make sure you'll have a great time:

  • Go to the party with friends.
  • Be responsible and watch out for each other.
  • Plan how you are going to get there and back.
  • Make sure you drink enough water.
  • Keep in mind that you don't have to drink. It's a choice.
  • If you choose to drink:
    • Eat before you go out.
    • Don't take other drugs. This includes painkillers such as Tylenol and Advil.
    • Have a nonalcoholic drink between every alcoholic drink.
    • Set a limit on how much alcohol you are going to drink.
    • Have a Designated Driver or Walker.
    • Stop drinking about an hour or so before the party ends.
    • Don't make drinking the only reason you are going to the party.
    • Remember, it is illegal in Minnesota for people under 21 to drink alcohol.
